Let's visit new places in Tokyo!

Let's visit new places in Tokyo!

If you want to enjoy Tokyo to the fullest, we recommend visiting one of the "new landmarks" that pop up every year. Places full of history are great, but it's also refreshing to visit a new place that incorporates the latest equipment and trends. Here are some of Tokyo's best new places to visit.  (As of January 2016)

The most popular "Tokyo Sky Tree"

The Tokyo Sky Tree ree is still the most popular representative of Tokyo's new landmark. It opened in May 2012 and has two observation decks: the Observation Deck, 350 meters above ground, and the Viewing Gallery, 450 meters above the ground. The aquarium at the foot of Tokyo Sky Tree is also popular, and the Tokyo Solamachi shopping mall is another popular place here with great food and shops.
We also recommend not missing a spectacular night view where you can enjoy the beautifully lit up Tokyo Sky Tree.
The Tokyo Skytree is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Japan. If you want to climb the Tokyo Sky Tree Observation Deck on weekends and national holidays when it is particularly crowded, it is a good idea to make a reservation online, which allows you to purchase tickets for the same day two months in advance.

Targeting mature women: "Shibuya Hikarie"

The large-scale complex in front of Shibuya Station, Shibuya Hikarie opened in April 2012. The 3rd basement floor to the 5th floor are occupied by "ShinQs" targeting adult women, the 6th and 7th floors by restaurants, the 8th to 16th floors by galleries, event halls, musical theaters, and other cultural facilities, and the 17th to 34th floors by offices.
The "ShinQs" is the place to go if you are a fashion-conscious woman. In addition, there are a fashion floor, a cosmetics floor, and a dining floor, so you can find everything you need for your daily life. On the 11th floor, you can find the Sky Lobby where you can look down on Shibuya and enjoy the night view as well as the view of the area around Shibuya Station where large-scale redevelopment work is underway.

"Shinjuku Toho Building" where Godzilla's head became a hot topic

Opened in April 2015 on the site of the former Koma Theater in Kabukicho, Shinjuku, the Shinjuku Toho Building has become a Kabukicho landmark with its 30 floors and Godzilla peeking out of the open terrace on the way to the building. The first floor is the restaurant area with affordable chain restaurants, and the second floor is the pachinko room.

TOHO CINEMAS Shinjuku on the third floor, accessible by escalator from the main entrance, is one of the largest cinema complexes in Tokyo, and MX4D, an attraction-type 4D theater, was introduced in late June 2015. In addition to the "Premier Luxury Seats, "which are electrically reclining seats, the" Front Reclining Seats, "which allow you to experience powerful images from the front row, are also available to maximize your movie experience.

"Harajuku Alta" on Takeshita Street

Harajuku Alta was opened in March 2015, in the middle of Takeshita Street in Harajuku. The target is the highly sensitive pure young people who are ahead of their time, just like Harajuku itself. The floors from the first basement to the third floor are divided into "Cafe", "Character & Fashion", "Craving (Fashion)", "Harajuku Souvenirs", and the Disney Store "for mature women".
Harajuku Alta is the fourth Alta store following Shinjuku, Ikebukuro (Sunshine City), and Niigata.

WACCA IKEBUKURO, a new complex building at the east exit of Ikebukuro

Opened in Ikebukuro in September 2014, WACCA IKEBUKURO is an eight-story building complex based on the theme of "food" and "lifestyle". The building features a variety of unique shops, including Neko Sekai, which sells everything related to cats, and Yuzawaya, a handicraft store that occupies the entire third floor!

The restaurant floor, where you can enjoy Italian food, grilled meat, and Brazilian churrasco, is also popular among gourmets. There is also a wedding hall on the 6th and 7th floors with a magnificent chapel and a party hall that can accommodate up to 140 people. Weddings in the middle of Ikebukuro are different. It definitely has its own charm.

As we mentioned, Tokyo has a number of shiny new spots that have appeared in recent years. Why don't you visit them when you come to Tokyo?
