This month's article will introduce some of the classic sightseeing spots in the Sapporo area that you should visit at least once in Hokkaido.
Located in the heart of Sapporo, Odori Park boasts beautiful flowerbeds and lawns. The park is popular with both tourists and residents alike, with many events held throughout the year, including beer gardens in the summer and snow festivals and illuminations in the winter.
The Sapporo TV Tower is a symbol that can be seen from any position in Odori Park. From the observatory in the tower, you can enjoy a spectacular view of Sapporo's natural beauty, including the Sea of Japan and the Ishikari Plain, not to mention Odori Park.

Sapporo Clock Tower
The Clock Tower is a classic tourist attraction in Sapporo, but its official name is "Former Sapporo Agricultural College Demonstration Hall" and was built as the central auditorium for military training, entrance and graduation ceremonies of the Sapporo Agricultural College.
More than 140 years have passed since its construction, but the clock of the clock tower continues to run day and night, and the bell rings 156 times a day, every hour, for the number of hours.
Inside the clock tower is an exhibition hall, which can be toured, or rented out as the Clock Tower Hall for music concerts, lectures, weddings, and other events.
Because it faces the street and is surrounded by trees, it is considered difficult to photograph, but there are photo spots on the grounds from which to take pictures.

Nijo Market
Nijo Market is located in the city of Sapporo and has a history of over 100 years. Visitors can purchase fresh seafood purchased that day, as well as vegetables and fruits grown in the vast land of Hokkaido, at market prices. Enjoy fresh seafood at one of the restaurants inside the market, or taste it at the market's eat-in corner, where you can enjoy fresh ingredients on the spot.

Sapporo Beer Garden
Sapporo Beer Garden is a historic building where you can enjoy special beer and delicious Genghis Khan.
The red brick building "Kaitakushikan" was built in 1890 as a sugar factory. It was then used as a malting factory until 1965, and in 1966, Sapporo Beer Garden was established.
In addition to the restaurants and beer garden where you can enjoy limited-edition beer only available here, there is also a museum and a photo spot, making it a place that can be enjoyed by adults and children alike.

Sapporo Maruyama Zoo
Maruyama Zoo was the first zoo to open in Hokkaido. It is known for its ingenious exhibition methods, and is especially famous for its "Polar Bear Pavilion" where you can see polar bears swimming dynamically. The zoo is recommended for parents and children, as they can not only see cute animals, but also enjoy learning about the ecology of living creatures.

Shiroi Koibito Park
This is a sweets theme park handled by Ishiya Co., Ltd., the distributor of the classic Hokkaido souvenir "Shiroi Koibito". In addition to visiting the production lines such as "Shiroi Koibito," you can see, know, taste, and experience content such as content to learn about the history of chocolate, a kitchen where you can make only one sweet in the world, and a cafe where you can enjoy original sweets. Sapporo Hitsujigaoka Observation Hill
A tourist attraction famous for its statue of Dr. Clark, this observatory stretches over a vast expanse of land typical of Hokkaido. The attraction is that you can see the different appearances throughout the year: pastures in spring, lavender fields in summer, autumn leaves in fall, and snowy landscapes in winter.
In addition to the abundant natural scenery, there are many ways to spend your time here, such as enjoying gourmet foods like Genghis Khan, or enjoying seasonal hands-on events.
The statue's pedestal is equipped with a mailbox where visitors can write their dreams and hopes on a "Pledge of Aspiration" form and mail it in.
The "Pledge of Aspiration" form is kept at the Sapporo Hitsujigaoka Observation Hill, so it is interesting to visit two or three times to see your own pledge.
