【Applicable to Tokyo, Kyoto City, and Osaka City】Changes to the Handling of the Accommodation Tax Effective March 1, 2026

Thank you for your continued patronage of SOTETSU HOTELS.
Effective March 1, 2026, we will be changing the handling of the Accommodation tax from the previous “inclusive tax method” to an “exclusive tax method.” Please note that the applicable method will vary depending on your reservation date, as detailed below.

【Cases Exempt from Separate Tax (Previously Included in Price)】

・Reservations made by February 28, 2026
Even if the stay date is on or after March 1, 2026, the Accommodation tax is included in the room rate, so no separate charge will be applied.
Example:
・Reservation made on November 1, 2025, for April 1, 2026 (1 night) → Not subject to separate tax
・Reservation made on November 1, 2025, for February 27 to March 3, 2026 (4 nights) → All nights not subject to separate tax

【Cases Where Separate Tax Applies】

・For reservations made on or after March 1, 2026
Regardless of your stay date, the Accommodation tax will be charged separately from the room rate.
Please note that even for prepaid reservations, the Accommodation tax must be paid separately on-site.

All Sotetsu Fresa Inn hotels located in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto
All SOTETSU GRAND FRESA hotels located in Tokyo, Osaka , and Kyoto
HOTEL SUNROUTE PLAZA SHINJUKU, THE POCKET HOTEL KYOTO-SHIJOKARASUMA, THE POCKET HOTEL KYOTO-KARASUMAGOJO

【Applicable Areas】

■ Tokyo Metropolitan Accommodation Tax Rate (Per person per night, room-only rate excluding tax)
Under JPY 10,000：Not taxed (Exempt)
JPY 10,000 or more but under JPY 15,000：JPY 100
JPY 15,000 or more：JPY 200

Under JPY 6,000：JPY 200
JPY 6,000 or more but under JPY 20,000：JPY 400

JPY 50,000 or more but less than JPY 100,000：JPY 4,000
JPY 100,000 or more：JPY 10,000
