Best Spots in Kanagawa to Visit during Golden Week!

Kanagawa Prefecture is full of attractive sightseeing spots. From fashionable areas that often appear in movies and TV dramas to popular spots where parents and children can enjoy nature, we'll introduce in detail all the tourist attractions you should visit during Golden Week!  (Information as of April 2018)

Yokohama Hakurankan Souvenir store

Yokohama Hakurankan is a three-story themed shopping center located on the main street of Yokohama Chinatown. Each floor has its own concept of "shopping", "eating", and "playing", and is filled with a variety of fun.


The Yokohama Snack Factory is located on the 2nd floor and is called "Baby Star Land". It is popular for its freshly made Baby Star Ramen.



Opening hours:  9:30  -  21:30  (varies depending on the day of the week and floor)

Access:  5-minute walk from Exit 2 of Motomachi-Chukagai Station on the Tokyu Toyoko and Minatomirai Lines;
              8-minute walk from the Chinatown Exit of Ishikawamachi Station on the JR Keihin-Tohoku and Negishi Lines

Yokohama Landmark Tower

Yokohama Landmark Tower, a skyscraper that stands 296 meters tall, is the symbol of Yokohama. After enjoying the spectacular view of Yokohama from the Sky Garden observation on the 69th floor, it is recommended to stop by the shopping mall in the adjacent Landmark Plaza.



Opening hours:  Sky Garden  11:00  -  21:00  (shopping area until  20:00, restaurants until  22:00)

Access:  3-minute walk from Minatomirai Station on the Minatomirai Line,
              5-minute walk from Sakuragicho Station on the JR Line via moving sidewalk

Sky Garden entrance fee:  1,000 yen for adults

Yokohama Anpanman Children's Museum

The Yokohama Anpanman Children's Museum is a must-see perfect place to spend time with your children. You and your children can enjoy the world of Anpanman, a cartoon character that children love.


The museum holds events where visitors can interact with cute characters, and also offers a wide variety of limited edition bread and goods.



Opening hours:  10:00  -  18:00  (last entry by 17:00)

Access: 7 minutes walk from Exit 2 of "Shin-Takashima Station" on the Minatomirai Line,
             7 minutes walk from Exit 2 of "Takashimacho Station" on the Yokohama City Subway (Blue Line)


Fee: 1,500 yen

Yokohama Cosmo World

Yokohama Cosmo World is a three-dimensional urban amusement park that is also a symbolic spot of Yokohama Minato Mirai 21. The world's largest Ferris wheel with a digital clock "Cosmo Clock 21" is the landmark of the park.


The park is divided into three zones, "Wonder Amuse", "Burano Street" and "Kids Carnival", where you can enjoy a wide range of fun for children.



Opening hours:  11:00  -  21:00  (until 22:00 on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays), closed on Thursdays

Access:  2-minute walk from Minatomirai Station on the Minatomirai Line,
              10-minute walk from Sakuragicho Station on the JR Negishi Line or Municipal Subway

Admission:  free (admission to attractions is charged)

Enoshima (Enoshima Shrine)

Enoshima is an island located about an hour from central Tokyo.


In addition to the many tourist spots on Enoshima, such as the "Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden" and the "Ryuren Bell of Love, we particularly recommend the Enoshima Shrine, which is one of the three major Benzaiten shrines in Japan and the symbol of Enoshima Island.


There are many shops on the way to the shrine, and it is recommended to take your time browsing through the souvenirs and local delicacies. The large ginkgo tree is also known as a famous place for marriage and marital bliss, so why not visit with your loved one?



Opening hours:  8:30  -  17:00

Access:  20-minute walk from Enoshima Station on the Enoshima Electric Railway

Fee:  free  (admission to the "Ho an den" is charged: 200 yen for adults)

Enoshima Aquarium

The Enoshima Aquarium stands facing Sagami Bay. There are many things to see here, such as the Jellyfish Fantasy Hall, with beautiful jellyfish exposition, the Sea Turtle Beach, where you can observe sea turtles up close, and the Sagami Bay Zone, which recreates an environment in Enoshima. The dolphin show, which is one of the most popular shows in the park, will satisfy both adults and children with its breathtaking performance.

Access:  3-minutes walk from "Katase-Enoshima Station" on the Odakyu Enoshima Line

Admission:  Adults  2,100 yen
